BBL broadband light energy can selectively target microstructures such as hair follicles, for the treatment of unwanted hair. Your treatment will be tailored for your skin type to ensure the safest, most effective and most comfortable treatment. An integrated system for cooling your skin will be used to remove heat and should ensure a comfortable treatment. Treatment time will depend upon the area to be treated. The BBL Hair Removal is suitable for most skin types, except very dark skin. Tanned skin should not be treated. Please avoid tanning, using tanning products or sun exposure for at least three weeks before treatment.
BBL selectively targets the melanin in the follicles of your unwanted hairs, and heats them with infrared energy, while sparing other structures in your skin. Unlike other epilation processes, BBL treats many hairs at once, making the treatment of large areas practical, for a safe, fast, effective and gentle treatment. Usually 4-6 treatments at 6-8 weeks interval are needed. There are three phases of hair growth – anagen, catagen and telogen. As only hairs in the active growth phase, anagen, can be successfully treated each time, hence a series of treatments is needed.
After the treatment, some redness and slight swelling may be present in the area that has been treated; however this should subside within a few hours. Keep the treated area clean, and use sunscreen when outdoors.
